Teeth Whitening
Achieve that bright, radiant smile you have always dreamed of!
Professional teeth whitening can boost your confidence in just one session. When your teeth get 2-6 shades brighter after the first visit, you won’t be able to stop smiling!
Teeth whitening is a pain-free, highly effective cosmetic dental procedure that results in a sparkling smile. The Fraser Point Dental office has been providing cosmetic dentistry in Vancouver, BC for several years. Our professional staff know how to minimize teeth discoloration and enhance teeth appearance with laser dentistry.
Within an hour, your teeth can be up to 6 shades brighter - and the teeth whitening process couldn't be simpler. Our friendly staff will apply an effective, yet gentle whitening gel to your teeth, making sure to protect the sensitive gum and tongue areas. We will then shine a powerful LED laser on your teeth that activates the whitening agents and breaks down surface staining. Our teeth whitening procedure requires no recovery time, and will get you a dazzling, beautiful smile in less than an hour. We also provide take-home teeth whitening kits for patients who prefer whitening their teeth themselves.
Additional information
Teeth whiten as a result of a chemical reaction that penetrates the enamel of the teeth to remove stains below the surface. Either Hydrogen peroxide or Carbamide peroxide will be used to brighten any stains present in the dentin, the layer of tooth below the enamel.
FAQs
For a smile makeover, porcelain veneers and dental crowns can have life-changing results. These treatment methods can enhance the appearance of teeth that are discolored, chipped, cracked, misshapen, broken, decayed, weakened, or crooked. While both veneers and crowns are methods of dental restoration, they are used for different reasons.
Veneers cover the front surface of your natural tooth. A less invasive cosmetic procedure compared to crowns, veneers leave majority of your natural teeth intact. To bond the porcelain veneer to your tooth, your cosmetic dentist will roughen the surface by grinding down approximately half a millimetre of your enamel. Porcelain veneers are custom-made to perfectly fit your teeth. So, your dentist will take an impression of your teeth using a digital scanner or mold and send these to a specialist. Your dentist may apply temporary veneers while the permanent ones are being made.
Crowns cover the entire tooth, therefore, more of the natural tooth needs to be ground or filed down. Crowns are not to be confused with dental implants, as crowns replace only the top portion of the tooth while a dental implant replaces the entire tooth. For dental crowns, your dentist will take an impression of your tooth during your first appointment. This image or mold will be sent to a lab that specializes in crown fabrication. While your permanent crown is being prepared, your cosmetic dentist will place a temporary crown on the ground-down tooth.
So, which is right for you? If your tooth is very worn, cracked, or has a large filling, a crown is most likely the best option to restore function and esthetic. Conversely, if your tooth is pretty well intact and you just want to enhance its colour and shape, porcelain veneers are a great option. Book an initial consultation with one of our cosmetic dentists to discuss the best solution for you.
Additional information
Veneers and crowns are used to restore function and fashion to atrophied teeth. Many patients decide to do it for the aesthetic benefits but many health benefits also exist. Additionally, improving your teeth and smile can increase your confidence and even help you get healthier.
